Matteo Iaccarino was born in 2001 in Naples, Italy. He got his master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2025, with the thesis entitled “Production and post-mortem characterization of double layer targets for laser-driven ion acceleration”. Since September 2025, he has been a PhD student in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology at Politecnico di Milano, working on the research topic “Advanced targetry for the development of laser-driven particle beams”. In the field of laser-plasma interaction, he is mainly involved in experimental activities. During his PhD he will work in close collaboration with ELI Beamlines facility, Czech Republic.
